1958 Gave verbal evidence to the Ingleby Committee - A Home Office Government Committee on Children and Young Persons in respect of the law in England and Wales.
1964-1974 Vice-President of the Association of Workers for Maladjusted Children (now the Association of Workers for Children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties)
1967 Member of a Working Party set up by the Association of Child Psychology and Psychiatry in collaboration with the National Bureau for Co-operation in Child Care. Under the chairmanship of Dr. Jessie Parfitt, Principal Medical Officer (Child Psychiatry) for the Greater London Council, the Working Party published a report entitled "The Community's Children". The Report dealt with the Management and Treatment of Emotional Problems of Children in Care.
1970-1987 Founder of Messenger House Trust and Hutchinson Settlement - a therapeutic type community based in Wimbledon. A National Registered Charity, it provided support and accommodation for homeless and deprived young people. Dr. Lomax-Simpson was also the Trust's Honorary Therapeutic Advisor from 1970-1982, and during this period developed a technique of working with people in a Large Group setting.
1973-1978 Professional Advisor to the Wimbledon Juvenile Magistrates (Juvenile Courts)
1976 Member of a Working Party of the Royal College of Psychiatrists under the Chairmanship of Dr. Colin Murray Parkes, and dealing with "Working with Volunteers in the Community".
1983-1986 Chairman of the Supervisor's Group of the Association of Therapeutic Communities.
1984-1988 Member of South West Thames Regional Psychiatry Subcommittee (South West Thames Regional Health Authority)
1986 - Member of Editorial Board, International Journal of Adolescence and Youth

The Cyril Black Prize is an annual award made by theLondon Borough of Merton to the person who has during the previous year made the greatest contribution to the Borough.
1986 Official guest of the Psychotherapy Section of the Psychiatric Association of Kracow, Poland, at their 25th anniversary celebrations.
